Best wax service I've found

Stella offers great service in a private setting, for a great price. I had been to 2 other wax places in Houston, and was still looking for a place where I was comfortable going back and happy with the price for the service. Once I found Stella, I was there. I've only used her for waxes so far, but want to try her facials also. She works out of her home, has been able to accommodate appointments on short notice when I needed them, and I've been pleased with the results every time. Highly recommended and would refer her to everyone who asks.

Upon moving to Houston I searched THIS site for recommendations for everything - I chose Stella because her clients wrote such raving reviews of her salon and services. I tried it out and I was VERY IMPRESSED! Female "maintenance" is never an enjoyable experience but Stella does her best to make the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable. She has very flexible hours to accommodate anyone schedule and her pricing is unbeatable. I HIGHLY recommend Skincare by Stella to anyone looking for a professional job done by a very gentle, talented woman.

The best bikini wax experience

I have been going to Stella for over two years. The environment has always been clean and professional. The prices are unbeatable. Stella is very gentle and takes the time to ask how you are doing. Stella has always been accommodating with last minute appointments. She offers a variety of other spa services including facials. I would highly recommend getting the blue bikini wax from Stella!

I had never had a Brazilian wax before and search for a salon through citysearch and decided on Skin Care by Stella. It had the best reviews and now I can say that they are all very true. I was so nervous when I got there and explained to her that it was my first time. She made every effort to make me feel as comfortable as possible. She asked if I'd prefer music and she turned on a very nice, soft, and calming music to help me relax. She turned on the fan because I get extremely hot when I am really nervous. She talked to me the whole time to help me get my mind off of any fears during the process. She is just the kindest lady. She is very professional and warns me to take a breath before she does anything, which is very helpful. I had a lot of questions about getting Brazilian waxes and she answered every question. She actually makes it a very NON-painful process. She has her salon in her home upstairs, which I thought was a bit strange at first but it's actually the best thing! I like the privacy that it provides. I would imagine it to be embarrassing for me to come out of a wax salon with people assuming my business. Anyway, she is very flexible with your schedule and very understanding. Oh and the price is truly unbeatable. I was first hesitant on getting Brazilian waxes because I knew they were pretty expensive to get but at Stella's, the prices are very reasonable. This was also another reason why I chose Skin Care by Stella. I honestly recommend Skin Care by Stella. It's great!

Her Brazilian wax method is exceptional. She is a professional and gentle woman whom makes you feel at ease throughout the whole process. I love that she is based out of her own home and has appointments set up to where there is much discretion. No one will be waiting while you are in session unless you come with a friends whom you are sharing an appointment with. The whole experience is set up in a comfortable setting. I moved from Houston to South Texas and have found no other establishments such as hers so I always find a way to make the trip up to see her for maintenance. She has great prices and makes the trip worthwhile. I highly recommend her but also need you to be aware that you can never be late to any of the appointments. This is what keeps the appointments personal and private for everyone else.

I found Stella through the reviews here on City Search. I had looked around quite a lot in Houston for a place to that would even do a Brazilian for men and when I found and tried a couple of places out they were either very expensive or not very good. Stella on the other hand is skilled, thorough and charges very reasonable rates. The only negative for me is that she is quite far from work/home but when comparing the quality of service and price with other places she is well worth the drive and the time. I highly recommend her.

It's hard to think of a short and sweet review for Stella because it would take 3 pages to share with you how great she is at what she does! I found her spa through Citysearch and tried it out because of the great reviews. The reviews were all true and Stella is even more amazing than I had expected she would be. I use her services for the blue-wax Brazilian and I have been going to her since October and have never thought once that I could find a better place to get a wax any where in Houston or in Texas! Aside from the unbeatable price, she is professional, gentle, and perfect at her technique (I have had a lot of waxes in a lot of different types of salons). She is perfectly accommodating with scheduling appointments, even late in the evenings which is perfect for people who work late. Her place is quiet, peaceful, and private, good for people who are not interested in receptionists or other people talking during a relaxing session. Trust the reviews, nothing could beat Stella's, and she is so sweet and friendly that you will not just meet a skilled aesthetician but also a new friend!

I have been visiting Skincare by Stella for over a year. The trip for me is a drive of about 40 minutes to get to her location, but it is truly worth it. The privacy, her perfectionism, she is just AWESOME. I found Stella through Houston City Search, on her reviews I found out that she used blue wax for the Brazilian, which is so much easier on the sensitive skin areas :) . Her facials are so relaxing, and so professional, salon quality at much better prices. I visited last week and she has a new massage table, it was so relaxing. So where can you get a facial, waxing and massage for 105.00?? Stella can not be beat! She is so efficient; I have never had to wait. When you leave a spa, people know your business but at Stella's know one knows. She is also very concerned with making you feel comfortable. She is willing to work with you to accommodate your schedule, and late hours. She is a beautiful person!!!

$45 Brazilian Wax

After hearing great things about Stella, I went to her for a Brazilian and absolutely highly recommend her. It was the first time for me to ever do it and honestly I was terrified that it was really going to be awfully painful. She did such a great job of putting me at ease and it really didn't even hurt. I had always wanted to do a Brazilian wax but just couldn't justify the cost that most places charge (anywhere from $70-$80) but since Stella has very little overhead, her prices are great. She uses the same high-quality blue wax that other places do, but only charges $45. Excellent! I would highly recommend Skin Care by Stella to anyone.

Stella is the best I have used in gentleness, efficacy, fast, and affordable waxing! I think besides her being a great technician, her place is the tops: clean, quiet, and totally private. Her salon space has total privacy, and that made me relax and feel comfortable. This is a classy and efficient lady. I won't go anywhere else.

I recently went to Stella for my FIRST bikini wax. I read the reviews on City search and chose Skin Care by Stella based both on the reviews and the price. I was really nervous about going, I'd never had a bikini wax and was going for the full Brazilian. I called her and got an appointment for the same day. I drove there trying to psch myself into it the whole time, I nearly chickened out... but when I arrived, Stella put me totally at ease. I was anticipating a lot of awkwardness and discomfort, but experienced neither. Stella was very gentle and her laidback demeanor made me feel a little silly for being so freaked out. Her workspace was exceptionally clean and she had natural light to work in, I hate fluorescent lights! The experience was a lot less painful than I expected to be; the nervousness and fear was a lot worse than the actual experience. I went about a month and a half ago, and I plan to make another appointment soon. The hair is growing in much thinner and slower than with shaving, which is the BEST part. I went weeks after my appointment without any re-growth at all. Stella told me to expect that, but results may vary, yk? I didn't want to expect too much, but she was right. She also uses a blue wax that she cools with ice to remove the hair. Much better than the hot wax I've had used on my eyebrows in the past, no burning when it's applied and no stinging afterwards. I would highly recommend Skincare by Stella. Stella was very professional and very personable. She kept my comfort in mind the whole time. She didn't rush to finish and the results attested to her truly good work.

Stella is an expert waxer. I have been using her services for 6 years now. She maintains an immaculate and relaxing environment, and makes the waxing experience virtually painless. She is sweet and kind and her prices are great! Highly recommended.

I found Stella through some Brazilian friends - women who really know about waxing - and have never thought of going anywhere else. The atmosphere is great - she only takes appointments, which means there is no one else in the clinic while you are there, no waiting, and no feeling pressured to move on. She is very gentle and good at what she does. Her prices are unbeatable in the city!

Pro: Price, Atmosphere, Painless
Con: little far from town
